Romania issued a set of 3 coins to commemorate 140 years since the establishment of military communications

National Bank of Romania will put to sale, starting 1st July, a set of three coins to celebrate 140th anniversary of military communications. The coins have the following nominal values:

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan Will Issue New 5000 Sum Banknote

Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan will issue on July 1st a new banknote having the face value of 5000 sum.

The banknotes are made on security paper, measuring 144 x 78 mm. On the white box on the right side of the banknote, there is a watermark in the form of a coat of arms of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the number “5000”. On the left side of the white box located there’s a holographic effect. In the background on the left side there are some ornamental elements, containing the emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Along with the cash in circulation,  the banknotes of 5000 sum must be accepted at their face value for all kinds of payments, by all business entities and by the public, without any restrictions.

The official exchange rate on June 28th is 2077.00 sum / $1.

United States Post Stamp Issue Dedicated to Johnny Cash

The Johnny Cash (Forever) stamp is being issued this year by United States Post as part of the exciting new Music Icons stamp series.

Johnny Cash was an American singer-songwriter, actor, and author, considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. He is primarily remembered as a country music icon, but his songs and sound spanned other genres including rock and roll, blues, folk, and gospel.

Cash was known for his deep, distinctive bass-baritone voice and for his dark performance clothing, which earned him the nickname “The Man in Black”. He usually began his concerts with the phrase “Hello, I’m Johnny Cash.”, followed by his standard “Folsom Prison Blues”.

Resembling the appearance of a 45 rpm record sleeve, the square stamp features a photograph taken by Frank Bez during the photo session for Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash (1963).

Central Bank of Malta issues new Euro Coin Set dated 2013

The Central Bank of Malta will issue on June 24th a new euro coin set dated 2013. The set contains the eight Maltese euro coins as well as a €2 coin, commemorating the 1921 Constitution that granted self-government to Malta.

All coins are struck at the Royal Dutch Mint. The euro coins are designed by Noel Galea Bason while the €2 coin is designed by Ganni Bonnici.

The set will also includes a replica coin from the Byzantine period and comes packed in a distinctive presentation box. The mintage is limited to 35.000 sets.

Australia’s first purple striped coin: the 60th anniversary of the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Royal Australian Mint will launch Australia’s first purple striped circulating $2 coin that celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The coin depicts three regal purple concentric stripes bordering St Edward’s Crown, designed by the Royal Australian Mint after they consultated with Buckingham Palace, and is the latest release in the tradition of commemorating the important royal events.

Two million of these coins will be released through the normal distribution channels.
The bag of five 2013 60th anniversary of the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II $2 coloured circulating coins is available to buy from the Australian Mint, with the cost of $10 face value plus postage.
