Australia issued a 1 Dollar coin for the ANZAC centenary – The Spirit Lives

The Royal Australian Mint issued a new 1 Dollar coin to commemorate the centenary of ANZAC. The Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) was a WW I army corps that operated during the Battle of Gallopoli. It was led by General William Birdwood.

France issued an Euro coins set commemorating 50 years of European Space Cooperation

This year we are celebrating 50 years of European space cooperation and the Ariane rocket, which remains one of Europe’s greatest achievements. The Monnaie de Paris mint issued a coin set for this occasion. The set has 4 coins in it, 3 of gold (5, 50 and 200 Euro face value) and one made out of silver (10 euro).

Silver coin dedicated to 100th anniversary of the Romanian Olympic Committee

Tomorrow, 10 February 2014, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin dedicated to the centennial anniversary of the Romanian Olympic Committee.

The coin has the following characteristics:

  • Metal: silver
  • Fineness: 999‰
  • Shape: round
  • Diameter: 37 mm
  • Weight: 31.103 g
  • Quality: proof
  • Edge: milled

The silver coins are housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French.

Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.

The mintage of this numismatic issue is 250.

The selling price per silver coin, including the leaflet, is lei 310.00 excluding VAT.

The silver coin dedicated to the centennial anniversary of the Romanian Olympic Committee is legal tender on the territory of Romania.

These collector coins will be put into circulation through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj‑Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara.
