Bank of Portugal released 2 new commemorative 2.5 euro coins made out of silver.
The first one celebrates 150 years since the Red Cross was founded in Geneva, Switzerland. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a three times Nobel Prize Laureate (1917, 1944 and 1963). It is currently made up of millions of volunteers all over the world.
The second coin is part of a larger series dedicated to the European Writers. It is dedicated to one of the most celebrated Portuguese writer : José Saramago, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1998.
